Today we had our last debate ; the topic was "Gun Control is not respected by criminals, so it's useless (sans intérêt, inutile)." Here are some points we developed : - It's more difficult for criminals to get guns with Gun Control. - I DON'T AGREE because criminals will always find a way (ils trouveront toujours un moyen) to get guns. - BUT if everybody has guns, it will be like in the Far-West. - YES BUT you must have a license to have a gun. - SO, if the criminals have money, it's ok for them to have a license. That was the last of our debates, and we used some interesting points. In the end, we can wonder (on peut se demander) if guns are a good deterrent. 2nd Debate Today we had another debate, the topic was : "the policemen shouldn't have guns." Here are some points we developed: - If there's an attack, policemen with guns can protect people. Without ( sans ) guns, they can't. - yes BUT if people had a good behaviour ( comportement ), policemen wouldn't need ( n'auraient pas besoin de ) guns. - BUT guns can be reassuring. - BUT this equipment is expensive. - AND it could be dangerous. - BUT policemen are trained professionals, they know how to fight properly ( correctement ).   Warm Up economy in video games items / price to make a living / to earn a living

Debate 1 Today we had our first debate. The topic was : " Every teacher should have a gun. "  Here are some of the points the debaters used: - if all teachers had guns, students would focus ( concentrate ) on the lesson. - Students can be violent, so guns can be a good thing. - Guns can be placed in locked box, in case of an emergency.  But... - it can be very dangerous for kids, for their safety ( security ). - students can take the weapons of the teachers and use them accidentally.  Warm Up Milka Milch und Kakao (it means milk and cocoa) a brand -> une marque to brand -> marquer (au fer rouge)    

Today we studied a scene from the Psycho movie together. It was the passage when Detective Arbogast dies. We tried and analysed it, and we also considered other movies where people fall, and the different ways in which they were filmed. Today we just talked about the definition of gun control and we presented possible points ( arguments ). a GUN CONTROL zone is a place where gun usage is limited. It's like a GUN FREE zone. Points against Gun Control: - you can protect yourself with guns. Points for Gun Control: - some people should not have guns. - you can make a mistake and shoot someone accidentally. - kids can play with them. Teachers in Utah can carry guns and weapons in the school. Right : "In Utah, teachers can carry guns at school and not tell anyone" The law says the parents don't have the right to know if the teacher of their children have a gun.  right:" what's more, parents by law can't ask that child's teacher if he or she is carrying a gun in the classroom." The teachers in Utah have no obligation to declare they carry guns. Right: "teachers who carry firearms are not required to inform school administrators of the existence of their weapons." If a school guard sees the gun of a teacher, he can shoot him/her  Right : "If your gun is showing, our security guards will shoot you."
