When I came To England 2

The Second Part Of The Interview Today we listened to the second part of the audio interview. Here's what we got. - The lady who is speaking is called Mrs Cooper. She said she went back to Jamaica for the first time in 20 odd years (20 ans et quelques).  - She said it was an emotional visit, because her gran recognized her " straight away " (immediately). But she also said she was treated differently again, she was treated as a foreigner (a stranger).  - She added (to add=ajouter) that she felt more comfortable in England than in Jamaica, that it was her home now, because people accepted her. Warm Up How can I say that... I'm lost for words... a novel a short story  a novelette how Homework For next time: prepare a warm up. Be sure to ask your questions if you have any.

Vampire Rumours Today we finished studying the article on Malawi villagers. We learnt that there were rumours of vampire killing people for their blood. It was not about real vampires of course. But these rumours had real consequences:  - Villagers left their fields. - Villagers kill strangers. - Villagers are suspicious, scared and aggressive. They become paranoid . We also understood that one man was stoned to death (=lapidé), and three priests were attacked. The villagers also think their government is helping the vampires. In the end, the president accused other politicians. The story told in this article sound like one of our games, where the villagers kill people because they imagine they're vampires.     To sweep/swept/swept = balayer   Warm Up It was about Billie Eilish, an Irish singer. a songwriter = un compositeur (pop music) to perform = se produire sur scène a show = un concert, un spectacle talented = talentueux(s...
