Presentation 3

Today we had the very last presentations. We learnt about different genres and songs. For instance, Anaïs helped us understand You're Beautiful by J. Blunt. At first it sounds like a regular (normal, usual) love song, but it's really the story of a pervert / drug addict stalking (following) a girl in the subway.
Likewise (de la même manière), Back To You features Easter Eggs about Selena Gomez's career.
Nirvana's Lithium is entitled like such (ainsi) maybe because of the use of lithium for bipolar disorder. We also noticed that the lyrics claim (prétendre) that the narrator is "so happy",  whereas (alors que) the song itself sounds sad because of the minor chords (des accords mineurs).

The words used by Steinbeck are vivid, almost poetical : the water "twinkles" and the foothills are "golden." It gives that incipit a lyrical twist ( =touch )/ This incipit has a lyrical twist to it. Steinbeck describes the scene the way a painter would, using light and colours to convey (= transmettre ) a feel...
