To wrap it all up, Avatar exemplifies the ambitions of US director James Cameron. This highly successful movie epitomizes (represents) the topic of imagination, with its luscious (very beautiful) depictions of alien worlds, and the stark reality (=la dure réalité) of human ravenous (predatory) colonization.

About Taphephobia, or the fear of being buried alive
In 1836, Sarah welcomed her niece, a 12 year old orphan girl by the name of Mary.
Mary's parents died at sea ; Mary and her aunt Sarah became inseparable.
One day, Mary collapsed, and Sarah didn't know the exact cause so she thought she was dead.
Then Sarah had nightmares and dreamed of Mary screaming in her grave (=tomb). The music was scary / ominous, and it grew louder and louder.
She thought her dream was real and that Mary was still alive.
Mary had been locked in her coffin. We then understood that Mary was buried alive
This story really happened in Oct. 1872
